7. Dovetailing  
Dovetailing is a process where bars are slotted and locked together to form a rigid connection. This method is used for specific types of steel grating that require high strength and durability.

Surface Treatment
After the grating panels are assembled, they often undergo surface treatments to enhance durability and corrosion resistance. Common treatments include:
Hot-dip galvanizing: Coating the grating with zinc to protect against corrosion.
Painting: Applying epoxy primer and topcoats to improve appearance and further protect against rust.

Quality Control
